Hey Tim!

I hope the Empower family is doing well!  I was talking to another mom at a tennis camp that Maddie attended a couple weeks ago. She told me of how her son just enrolled in Karate at Empower. He is a Dyno-Mite and she said that he loves it. She loves it too because they have fun, but they are also taught where the line is drawn and disciplined. She likes the teacher that you have working with the Dyno-Mites too.  I just thought I would pass that on to you as an assurance that you are still doing things well over there! See ya around!

Dear Sensei Tim,

This note is to let you know how very proud both my husband and I were to see how Zayk performed on his blue belt test. Zayk has come so far from the first day he started karate at The Beecher Center 2 1/2 years ago and it is amazing to see how confident he was to progress to this level (blue) of belt.

We want to thank you for being such a great teacher and influence to our son. He respects you a great deal!

You said after his test that we should feel proud, as parents, for how well we prepared our kids for this test. I want to say that you should be proud as a Sensei for shaping these kids and inspiring them to want to go to higher belt levels. Thank you for being such a great man and doing such great work as a Sensei to make students want to be a part of your program and your life.

I’m responding now just to reiterate how blessed we feel to have found Empower as our Karate training provider. Tim, it is very obvious the thought and planning that goes into your program, and your dedication to helping these children become productive, conscientious, self-confident adults is so appreciated. Obviously, we decided to home-school because we have some of the same objectives for our child as you and I can’t tell you how comforting it is to have a like mission over there.

I can see that you are passing on your philosophy well to the assistant instructors and that everyone there is of one accord. I have told you this before but will say it again lest you are worried that your less-than-perfect Dojo is not a comfortable place: we feel SO comfortable at Empower despite the metal chairs and cement floors! And, I know you are working on improvements and so I only offered up that bit of criticism about the lack of observation space in the other room to let you know that it is the ONLY criticism I have. I think that speaks highly of your efforts for the summer program.

Thanks for your time this evening. Max was very proud which he doesn’t show very often. For the first time, he told us he was earning a black belt. Big talk from a 7 year old, but I believe him. We’ve seen wonderful positive growth from Max in so many levels, you have an awesome gift. Attached is a picture of his karate wall in his room that he wanted us to share with you.

Hi Tim,

Thank you so much for this, our kids have learned from you.  Although Michael loves his karate, I know he enjoys and prefers you as his teacher.

You should be proud of yourself as well as them.  You are their mentor and they respect you.  Again thank you for all your efforts and thank you so much for the feeling we as parents felt for Michael today.  It was amazing, I would not trade his happiness and excitement for anything today.

Tim: I can not tell you how happy Carson was to get his blue belt. Renee and I have never seen Carson so excited. I want to thank you for all you have done. I feel, to you it is more than a job, and we are lucky to have our son in your class. Carson seems to be ready for next step and get more involved. I can only hope this is so.  Thanks again.
